American Red Cross to Hold Blair County’s Largest Blood Drive on July 21, 2026

PENNSYLVANIA | Putihnews.com – The American Red Cross will host the 38th Annual Blair Media Blood Blitz, the largest blood donation event in Blair County, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in an effort to replenish the blood supply during the busy summer season.

The event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Altoona Area Junior High School Fieldhouse. Organizers are encouraging community members to donate blood to help hospitals maintain an adequate blood supply for patients in need.

According to the American Red Cross, donations from all blood types are urgently needed, especially during the summer months when blood donations typically decline while demand remains high.

To be eligible, donors must be at least 17 years old (or 16 with parental consent where permitted), weigh at least 110 pounds (50 kilograms), and be in good general health.

As a token of appreciation, every eligible donor will receive a Fandango movie ticket voucher worth up to $15, a free Sheetz fountain drink coupon, and an exclusive American Red Cross beach towel.

The annual blood drive is sponsored by WTAJ and Seven Mountains Media, with organizers hoping to collect enough donations to help local hospitals meet the ongoing demand for lifesaving blood transfusions.
